Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the DRM (MusicList) iPhone and iPad app and its music collection service. It explains how information is handled when you use the app.

The current cloud reading experience does not require a reader account. Bookmarks, channel subscriptions, reading progress, and in-app listening statistics are stored on your device. They are not uploaded to DRM's cloud content service as a reader profile.

1. Information handled by the app

Information stored on your device: The app stores downloaded collections, bookmarks, reading progress, channel subscriptions, listening statistics, playback preferences, and playlist save task status on your device. This supports offline reading, personal views, and prevention of duplicate saves. Uninstalling the app will generally remove this local data.
Content access: The app retrieves public collections, images, and configuration over the network. Services needed to deliver this content may process technical information such as your request IP address, request time, and requested path to deliver content, protect the service, and troubleshoot problems. Requests may pass through our cloud hosting, content delivery network (CDN), and network proxy providers.
Legacy pairing service: If you use the still-supported local editorial service pairing feature, that service stores the name you enter, device name, pairing and session identifiers, and the status of bookmarks, reading, subscriptions, and playlist save operations. This supports access across devices and prevents duplicate operations. The editorial party that configures the service manages it; you choose its address in the app.

2. Apple Music

The app requests Apple Music access only when you use playback or playlist saving. It uses Apple's MusicKit to look up tracks and regional availability, play music, and create a playlist in your music library when you choose “Save to Apple Music.” In the current cloud mode, save task status and playlist identifiers are stored locally on your device. The app does not ask for your Apple ID password. Apple's handling of information in its music service is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. You can manage music access in system settings; the relevant features will stop working if you revoke access.

3. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information. To provide content and music features, relevant requests may be processed by Apple Music and our cloud hosting, object storage, CDN, and network proxy providers. We require service providers to handle data according to applicable agreements and security requirements. If you connect to a local editorial service, its operator handles the pairing and usage data described above. Contact that operator for its retention and deletion practices.

4. Retention, deletion, and your choices

You can remove local bookmarks, subscriptions, and statistics by uninstalling the app. Playlists already created in Apple Music must be managed in Apple Music. You can revoke music access in system settings. Editors manage public cloud collections according to their publishing plans, separately from reader profiles. Network services retain technical records for the period needed to provide the service and investigate security issues, then delete or anonymize them; exact periods depend on provider settings and applicable law.

The editorial party you connect to manages legacy pairing service data. To access or delete reader information held by that service, contact the editorial party and provide the information needed to identify your pairing. 5. Security and policy changes

We use HTTPS to transmit online content. The app stores legacy pairing credentials in the device's system Keychain. We will update this policy as features and data practices change and show the update date here. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required.
